Food Drive

A big ‘Thank You’ to the wonderful Mountain Tops residents for your support of our neighborhood and the sixth annual food drive to benefit Fannin County Family Connection Food Pantry.  Because of your generosity, we collected $2,550 and presented to Sherry Morris, Executive Director for Family Connection.  We learned earlier in the week that there was a need to help fund the purchase of 300 turkeys so that less fortunate families in the community may enjoy a holiday meal.  We decided that this would be a worthwhile project for our Mountain Tops community.   When we visited the pantry to make the donation, we were given a tour of the facility which houses the food pantry, as well as offices of Family Connection Collaborative which works in the schools and community for drug and alcohol awareness.   There is also a clothes closet and facilities for the homeless to shower, receive mail while they are looking for a job and prepare themselves a meal.  Both local newspapers were on hand at the time of donation, so look for more upcoming news soon.  It is amazing what we can do collectively to impact our community.

We have a private FaceBook page and if you have not yet done so would love to have you join.

If you have not already done so please subscribe to the Mountain Tops Newsletter.
